thy wretched weight

thine aging seal

in silence aches

CHAPTER 1

It didn't seem like much. Hidden beneath the silver platter my brother and I had thrown like a frisbee a few minutes earlier. It wasn't my fault it crashed into the back wall of my grandfathers workshop and tumbled out of view behind his “collectibles”. It was so boring here and my brother was supposed to catch it.

In a panic, I sprinted toward the sound and slid to a halt behind the large shelves in the back. Sprawled among the dust and broken glass on the floor was a odd chain escaping beyond the platters rim. Nothing about it stood out as unusual from the other riff-raff in Grandpa's workshop. What really caught my eye was a pale blue light, faint and emanating. The light slowly grew beyond the platters underside, spilled onto the floor and draped itself over my feet.

“Hurry up!” my brother yelled as I jumped back to reality.

“Gimme a minute!” I retorted, slightly annoyed.

Bending down I gripped the chain and pulled until the platter slid off, clattering to the floor. Slowly and carefully, I raised the chain until, at last, its odd blue light blanketed my face. The unknown crystal—bound in thick metal bindings—began to slowly pulse and groan beneath the aging forged seals…

UPDATE LOG

  • March 9, 2026 - Fixed the number of links in the chain. Originally, there was an odd number of links which caused the chain to be twisted when it was joined at the ends. There was 10 downloads and 2 prints when I uploaded this new file. To those customers, I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • March 21, 2026 - Added a print profile and assembly guide for the DISPLAY STAND. The display stand is a great addition that allows you to show off your Oathbound Shard on a shelf or table. Hope y'all love it!
