Snap-Off Blade Line Cutter (18 mm Utility Blade)
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a compact line cutter designed to use a standard 18 mm snap-off utility knife blade.
Instead of triangular hobby blades (which exist in many incompatible sizes), this design uses a 40 mm segment of a common snap-off blade. These blades are inexpensive, widely available, and very consistent across manufacturers.
The blade sits protected inside the body so it cuts line easily while keeping fingers safe.
Features
- Uses standard 18 mm snap-off utility blade
- Only 40 mm of blade required
- Easy to replace when dull
- Safer than exposed blades
- Works well for rope, fishing line, paracord, kite lines, etc.
Assembly
- Snap off a 40 mm section of a standard 18 mm utility blade.
- Place the blade in the slot.
- Close the two halves and secure with two M3 screws.
Notes
- Most 18 mm snap-off blades follow the same dimensions (100 mm × ~18 mm × ~0.5 mm), so compatibility is very good.
- The hole in the blade helps position it correctly in the cutter.
