Description

This is a tool I made to remove the lockring of the axle (crankset) of an old roadbike.

  • Print with 100% infill
  • It is meant to be very tight to prevent the plastic from stripping. Hammer it in, if necessary.
  • Use WD40 or some other creeping lubricant to dissolve/loosen old grease (often acts like glue). Give it a few hours to soak in.
  • Inner diameter is 45.8 mm; it's mostly old french, italian and japanese bikes that use this type of lockring.

I used a set of large plumbing pliers to rotate the ring. A very large wrench will work too (it will have to be comically large though)
