Description

This Silica Gel Dry Tray for the Bambu AMS2 Pro is designed to easily dry silica gel beads directly inside the AMS2 Pro using the filament drying function. The design was inspired by other models in the community, but includes several practical improvements to make drying and handling silica beads easier and cleaner.

 

Perfect if you want to reuse your silica gel instead of replacing it.

If you prefer drying your silica gel in a microwave or oven that you also use for preparing food,
this model is probably NOT for you.

Features

  • Honeycomb airflow bottom for reliable printing of small holes and improved airflow
  • 1-1.5 mm ventilation holes to keep beads in place while allowing air circulation
  • Improved pouring spout for quick emptying of silica beads
  • Precision pouring addon for filling silica containers or narrow openings
  • Customizable hole size by adjusting the modifier infill percentage

How to use

  1. Fill the tray with silica gel beads
  2. Place it in the AMS2 Pro
  3. Run drying mode

Recommended drying profile:

  • PETG mode
  • 65°C
  • ~6-8 hours; depending on the amount of silica and moisture level

Material recommendation

Minimum:

  • PETG

Better heat resistance:

  • ABS
  • ASA

Customizing airflow holes

The small airflow holes are generated using modifier objects with honeycomb infill.

If you want different hole sizes:

  • Adjust the infill percentage of the modifier objects.
  • Higher infill → smaller holes
  • Lower infill → larger holes

This allows easy customization without redesigning the model.
