Description

After @Chespi equipped @SkewedPerception's fantastic PAX Puck Press with 3x6mm magnets, I made it narrower.

This was partly to save material and make the press more manageable, and partly to increase the transparency of the tube.

The application is quite simple. Place the tube on the base, fill it with herbs, and gently press down with the plunger. The required pressure, and therefore the density of the brick, will need to be determined individually.

This creates a homogeneous brick through which the hot air can flow evenly.

I recommend cleaning the puck press with a Bunsen burner and a brush after printing to prevent accidentally inhaling plastic.

I printed the press with Sunlu PLA+.

The plunger and base have three walls, 15% gyroid infill, variable layer height, and of course, no supports. All surfaces are smoothed to reduce residue buildup in the grooves and for easier cleaning.

Anyone wanting to create the press in a single print should use the "Pax Puck Press slim magnets" profile. If desired, you can print in two colors to highlight the text.

I've configured the settings for the transparent tube in the "Tube only transparent" profile.

I printed the transparent tube with a 0.6 mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.3 mm to reduce interference layers. Two wall lines and no infill further enhance the transparency.

Happy printing!
