These 3D-printed extension elements allow you to widen a safety gate that was originally designed for door widths up to 80 cm, without needing to purchase expensive original extensions.
Many common safety gates use corner inserts with threaded pressure bolts that clamp against the door frame. The parts provided here replace those original corner inserts and move the contact points further outward, allowing the existing threaded rods to still be used.
How it works
The original corner inserts are removed from the gate and replaced with these 3D-printed inserts.
The new inserts extend further out from the gate frame, creating additional space for the threaded rods. This allows the gate to still be securely tension-mounted between the gate and the door frame even with a wider opening.
Variants
30 mm version
- Extends each side by 30 mm
- +60 mm total additional width
- Maximum door width: approx. 86 cm
50 mm version
- Extends each side by 50 mm
- +100 mm total additional width
- Maximum door width: approx. 90 cm
Installation
- Remove the original corner inserts from the safety gate.
- Insert the printed extension elements into the existing sockets.
- Screw the original threaded rods back in.
- Install and tighten the gate in the door frame as usual.
