Description
200mm fan mount with magnetic filter for your KWS Rack. This is designed around a CoolerMaster 200mm MegaFlow, but should theoretically fit any 200mm fan. Cable routing out either the front or back to easily route to your fan controller.
Parts needed:
- Crazy glue (for attaching the frame and gluing magnets)
- 8x 9mmx1.5mm magnets
- 4x M2x4mm screws
- filter mesh - check amazon/alibaba, make sure whatever you buy can cover a 220mmx220mm square (this is a little big but will make positioning and trimming the filter easier)
- (optional) M2x3mm heat set inserts
Assembly is simple, thuroughly clean the supports off of the Fan Mount and use a few dabs of crazy glue to secure the outer frame pieces to the fan. Glue the magnets in the magnet sized holes on the bottom of the fan mount and the top of the filter mount. Cut a filter to a size that covers the screw holes. Position the filter so that it is covering all four holes and secure it with 4 M2x4mm screws through the second half of the filter mount. This will hold better if you use the optional heat set inserts to give the little screws something to thread into other than the plastic.
The entire filter mount is optional, but a nice to have. Strong enough magnets would be sufficient to hold the filter by themselves.
Big shout out to Ilan Kushnir for the brilliant KWS Rack design. Loving this thing so far.
