Description

Overview

This is a basic belt/pocket clip carrying case designed to fit a Heltec device that is already using its factory case. It features an integrated passive retention mechanism to hold the device securely in place.

The belt loop accommodates a standard 1.5" belt, or it can be clipped directly onto a shirt or pants pocket. The passive retention button holds the Heltec securely inside the sleeve, yet a firm pull on the antenna allows you to remove the device easily.

Design Features

  • Button Clearance: I included two front recesses to clear the Heltec's side buttons, ensuring they aren't accidentally pressed when inserting or removing the device.
  • Debris Mitigation: There are drainage holes at the bottom of the sleeve to prevent dirt, dust, or moisture from building up inside.

Assembly & Gluing

Because the clip is pre-tensioned by design, you will need to clamp the lower clip interface tightly against the sleeve body until your glue or solvent welding product has fully set (I chose to chemically fuse mine).

For clamping, I used a bread knife and rubber bands (as shown in the photos). I highly recommend doing a dry test run with this setup first to ensure a tight fit before applying your actual adhesive or fusing product.

As always, I'm relatively new to this hobby, so constructive feedback and comments are highly appreciated—let me know how it works for you! If you find this design useful, please leave a thumbs-up to help others find it. Thank you!
