The "Gotcha!" Gravity Container (April Fools' Special)
Do you have a friend who is a little too eager for snacks? This 3D-printed container is the ultimate prank disguised as a helpful Easter egg holder.
🛠️ How it Works
At first glance, it looks like a standard storage jar. However, the lid and the base are mechanically linked through the central body. The moment someone starts twisting the lid to get to the treats inside, the bottom unscrews and drops the entire payload.
It’s a "gravity-fed" prank that turns a simple "thank you" into a "did that just happen?"
📦 Features
- 2 Container sizes:
- Small 70mm diameter and 50mm in height (takes 20 small easter eggs)
- Large 70mm diameter and 80mm in height (takes 55 small easter eggs)
- 3-Part Modular Design: Includes the Main Body, the "Prank" Lid, and the "Trapdoor" Base.
- No Supports Needed: Designed for easy printing on the A1, P1, X1 or H2 series.
- Easter Egg Ready: I designed perfectly sized small easter eggs to fill in this container, but you can be creative and use whatever fits in there, like small sweets M&M, skittles, beads, small nuts, etc.
🖨️ Recommended Print Settings
- Layer Height: 0.2mm
- Infill: 15% Gyroid
- Wall Loops: 3
- Speed: 150mm/s outside and inside wall
- Material: PLA works best for that satisfying "clink" when the bottom hits the floor.
🛠️ Assembly & Loading Guide (The "Trap" Setup)
Follow these steps in order to ensure your prank is primed and ready to go. This container is optimized for small sweets like M&Ms, Skittles, or Reese's Pieces.
- The Lid: Snap the Lid onto the Main Body. It should click into place and rotate freely.
- The Payload: Turn the container upside down. Pour your chosen "bait" (M&Ms, Skittles, etc.) into the open bottom of the main body.
- The Trapdoor: Take the Bottom Part and align the two notches with the internal notches of the main body.
- Arm the Device: While holding the bottom part in place, twist the Lid. This will engage the screw mechanism, pulling the bottom piece up until it’s perfectly flush and "locked" against the body.
- The Delivery: Hand it to your victim. When they naturally twist the lid to get a snack, the bottom will unscrew and gravity will do the rest!

🍬 Best "Bait" for this Prank:
- M&Ms / Skittles: The classic. They roll everywhere and make a great "skittering" sound on the floor.
- Small Beads: For a non-edible (and very annoying) cleanup.
- Dry Beans: If you want to be truly weird about it.
