Description

This 3D model was created with the help of AI 🤖.

Several corrections were made to the model to split it into separate parts, and a few additional pieces were created.
The final print does not require an AMS.

Homer Simpson

Well, I guess everyone knows Homer Simpson. This particular figure is based on a scene/meme where Bart asks Homer “Why so elegant, Homer?”. In the scene, Homer is holding a slice of pizza and a Duff beer. The meme is usually used to represent some kind of important event or announcement, and I simply thought it would be fun to recreate something like that in 3D.

In the original scene Homer is sitting on his couch, but due to scale limitations (the couch was too large for the print bed) and filament usage, I decided to replace it with a small seat instead. This piece is optional though, since the model can also sit nicely on the edge of a desk, shelf, box, etc.

Printing/Assembly Recommendations

Several parts include and require the use of a brim, especially the hair pieces.

The side hair piece (^^^^) is the most difficult one to clean up because it includes several supports. My recommendation is to use something like flush cut pliers to carefully cut the supports from both the outer and inner sides, as shown in the following image. Once the supports are cut, you can gently wiggle the bottom part of the supports to remove them.

For the top hair pieces (the two curved lines), I recommend using something like a trimmer knife / scraper to remove some of the brim residue (the white marks that sometimes remain after removing a brim).

I recommend assembling the pizza before placing it in the hand. The same applies to the head (mouth, eyes, pupils, and hair). Once everything is assembled, simply glue it to the suit.

Final notes

Personally, I’m quite happy with the final result. The only thing missing is the Duff beer logo. I’ve seen some people use stickers for small details like that, which could look great here!

Although the can is quite small anyway.

Really cool collection! Did you hand paint the Duff Beer, or did you use an AMS for it? Thanks for sharing your print, and thanks for the boost, I really appreciate it!
