Description

The swamps have eyes, and they are watching you. This Swamp Frogman Spearman is the perfect low-level threat for your adventurers. Whether you need a tribe of Bullywugs defending their marshland territory, a nimble Grippli hunter, or a coastal fish-man proxy, this miniature brings classic tabletop swamp encounters to life.

The sculpt features a classic amphibious humanoid with a prominent, bulbous frog head, wide eyes, and webbed feet. It is equipped with primitive survival gear, wearing a worn, wet leather tunic and carrying a stone-tipped spear. In its other hand, it holds a charmingly ramshackle wooden shield adorned with a carved fish emblem. The creature stands on a fantastic Coastal Marsh Base, intricately detailed with seashells, a tiny crab, scattered bones, and a small water puddle.

Key Features:

  • Amphibian Canvas: The smooth, curved surfaces of the frogman's skin are perfect for practicing wet-blending and stippling to create realistic, mottled amphibian textures. (Pro tip: add a layer of gloss varnish to make him look constantly wet!).
  • Tribal Personality: The primitive spear, pouches, and especially the fish shield give this monster a distinct personality, showing they are part of a tribal society and not just mindless beasts.
  • Diorama Base: The inclusion of the little crab and seashells makes the base a miniature storytelling piece on its own, instantly setting the scene.

28mm on FDM is tricky! Try a 30-45 degree tilt with supports. It stops the spear from having those weak horizontal layer lines that snap off, giving it much better structural integrity

Replying to @gbilhalva :
it worked <3, tilted it 30 degrees back so the spear is support less in the print. it came out wonderful. thanks for the advice. Now time to learn how to paint.
