Car Chassis Plug Generator

The Car Chassis Plug Generator is a parametric model for creating custom plugs to close holes in automotive body panels or sheet metal parts.

It allows you to quickly generate a plug that fits your specific hole size and panel thickness without modifying the model geometry.

Parameters

• hole_diameter – diameter of the hole the plug should fit into
• panel_thickness – thickness of the sheet metal or panel

• plug_style – plug type (0 = hollow, 1 = solid/bulged)

   

The hollow version prints faster and uses less material.

The solid (bulged) version fills the internal cavity of the plug. This prevents moisture from collecting inside the U-shaped hollow section, which can help reduce trapped water and possible corrosion in automotive applications.

For best performance the plug should be printed in flexible TPU (recommended: 95A or 90A) so it can compress slightly during installation and create a better fit in the sheet metal hole.

The model is designed for easy FDM printing without supports and can be used for a wide range of hole sizes in car chassis, body panels, or other sheet metal constructions.
