SFERA Planters — Collection #2
Organic & Geometric Textured Pots for Plants
SFERA Collection #2 continues the exploration between calm organic volume and controlled geometric structure.
For this iteration, I reshaped the base form to be more rounded and continuous. The silhouette feels softer and more fluid compared to the first collection, while the surface geometry has been slightly intensified.
The rib structure was also redesigned to run fully around the object, creating a true 360° pattern. This makes the texture more consistent from every angle and enhances how light interacts with the surface.
Like the first collection, the geometry is generated algorithmically in Rhino + Grasshopper, then refined in Fusion 360 and rendered in KeyShot Studio (first picture only). The texture is not applied afterward. It grows directly from the geometry itself.
The result is a form that feels familiar to the original SFERA, but more unified, more rounded, and more expressive in texture.
Dimensions
Small - 133 × 133 × 90 mm
Large - 222 × 222 × 150 mm
The smaller version works well for compact plants and desks, while the larger version has a stronger sculptural presence.
Printing Notes
All versions were printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle for sharp definition.
Larger nozzles are not just about speed here. They enhance the tactile quality of the surface and increase structural strength.
0.6 mm gives stronger ridge character.
0.8 mm makes the texture bold and sculptural.
Arachne wall generator is recommended for the insert.
Note for your plants:
For best results, you can add a cotton or synthetic wick through the insert into the reservoir. The wick helps draw water up gradually, improving consistent moisture delivery and absorption at the root level. This keeps the growing medium evenly hydrated, reduces watering frequency, and supports healthier root development without the risk of overwatering.

If you want to see where this series started, you can check SFERA Collection #1. That first collection explores the original spherical form with the Ondula spirals and the Pinecone pattern created by combining both directions. It focuses on the balance between a calm sphere and controlled geometric tension across the surface.
