Description

I designed these bed clamps for my Bambu Lab P2S to solve the issue of the magnetic build plate lifting when printing large parts in ABS, ASA, and other high-shrinkage materials that are prone to warping.

When printing bigger models, material contraction can cause the plate to bend or lift slightly from the magnetic base. These clamps help keep the build plate firmly seated, preventing movement and bed warping.

The set includes four types of clamps:

  • Front clamp – Can be installed wherever there is no tab on the front of the build plate, including the right side-front near the Z-axis lead screw.
  • Front clamp (tab side) – Designed specifically for the side of the plate with the bed plate front tab.
  • Bigger side clamp – Hooks fully onto the frame underneath the build plate, providing a more secure and stable grip.
  • Smaller side clamp – Can be installed anywhere along the sides, including near the rear corners of the printer.

Each clamp requires:

  • 1× 30mm M3 screw
  • 1× M3 hex nut (to be glued inside the knob)

I printed mine in polycarbonate and highly recommend using this material due to its excellent heat resistance and mechanical strength.

It is strongly recommended to print the files in the exact orientation provided on the build plate. The parts are designed to be printed without supports.

Do not overtighten the clamps to avoid damaging the build plate, especially the smooth plate, which is more delicate. Tighten them just enough so they do not move.

Pay particular attention to the front clamps to avoid damaging the light gray frame around the build plate area and the metal tab on the build plate.

The print file includes one of each clamp type, so you can choose which versions to print and how many you need.

If you experience any issues or have questions, feel free to contact me.
