New arrivals:

FidgetCollection - ArcSpin and..

SpinDot PRIME – Designed for Smooth, Controlled Rotation

SpinDot Prime is a precision‑engineered fidget sphere built around a very tight 0.3 mm clearance and a solid internal core. The design focuses on smoothness, stability, and clean mechanical behavior. To achieve the intended rotation quality, a few printing conditions are essential.

Filament Recommendations

  • PLA Galaxy and standard PLA provide the most reliable smoothness and dimensional accuracy.
  • PLA Silk can work, but spool‑to‑spool consistency varies. Some prints glide perfectly, others show slight over‑extrusion that affects the clearance.
  • PLA Matt prints cleanly but introduces noticeably higher friction.
  • All materials should be properly dried before printing.

Printer Setup

  • A well‑calibrated printer is required (flow, Z‑offset, extrusion accuracy).
  • 0.12 mm layer height produces the cleanest internal surfaces.
  • The model uses manually designed supports for maximum reliability and clean removal. These supports ensure a perfectly round inner geometry without artifacts.
  • Allow the print to cool completely before spinning. The internal core retains heat longer than the shell, and the mechanism only reaches its final tolerance once fully cooled (often longer than 30 minutes!).

Important Notes

  • All parts are provided as separate objects.
  • Do not use automatic arrangement or batch placement.
  • Printing multiple units at once can break the support logic and reduce smoothness.
  • For multicolor versions (Galaxy + White PLA), print one unit per plate to ensure clean filament transitions.

Available Versions

  • Size M – single‑color
  • Size M – dual‑color (Print time H2C: 3h, A1: 9.5h)
  • Size L – single‑color
  • Size L – dual‑color (Print time H2C: 6h, A1: 15h)

Each version is optimized for smooth rotation and clean support removal.

Result

With dry filament, a calibrated printer, and the included manual supports, SpinDot Prime delivers a smooth, controlled rotation that reflects the intention behind the design: precision through reduction.

Great print, the extra supports did a really good job keeping it stable and they were simple to remove, nice work. I used up two nearly empty spools as well with good success. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the great rating! The bottom is flat by purpose to give a stable contact area to the build plate and to prevent overhangs to become untidy... Happy printing! 😃👍

Hmmm I was very surprised by your feedback, I looked into it. Apparently, MakerWorld shows the print time that was sliced for my H2C before I uploaded the file - not the print time of a single nozzle printer, even if I select it in the app. I find that strange - I have opened a ticket and am surprised that the display works like this. I am also adding the long print times for single nozzle printers in the description text...

Antwort des MakerWorld Supports: Hi there, Thank you for your patience. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding. Please allow us to explain: both the estimated printing time shown on the printer and the estimated printing time displayed on MakerWorld are only predictions of the model’s printing duration. Therefore, it is possible that the estimated times may not be consistent between the two. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The actual printing time should be taken as the final reference. At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your feedback. We will take it into consideration to further optimize the prediction display and improve the overall user experience.Thank you for your understanding and support. Have a good day! Best regards, MakerWorld
