Description

My 996 turbo cupholder C inner and C outer pieces were falling apart and broken, and the face plate with the two cups was also broken with a hairline crack running through it. Upon disassembly I discovered someone had been in the cupholder assembly before as well and jankily glued together the gear train part as well.

I 3D scanned and reverse engineered CAD of the two C pieces for the outermost (most used probably) cupholder tensioner, and then the fascia, and the gear piece. While I was working on the fascia I used the actual two cup logos which came out great, looking better than some of the paid ones I've seen online, but decided it might be neat to have the “turbo” script on there so I made that as well. I guess you could put other stuff there (maybe even logos that get your models removed cough PORSCHE cough).

Fits other Porsches with the same (questionable) cupholder design. Porsche Cupholder - 986 Boxster (2003-04), 996 Carrera 2/4 (2002-04), 996 Turbo (2002-05) supposedly. I believe these pieces are not individually part numbered, but the overall assembly is 996 552 183 02 01C.

For some reason people love selling these parts or gatekeeping the STLs, I made my own as a result. This is all from scratch from me. Fusion 360 files and STEP are available, and STLs, and each plate has each piece as well.

There's a great disassembly and reassembly video here (not from me) if you can't figure it out.
