This Twisty Egg is a precision-engineered print-in-place 3D creation, crafted as one complete mechanism straight off the build plate. Hidden inside its elegant egg silhouette are 10 movable segments, perfectly tuned for smooth, flowing motion.
From the moment you pick it up, it becomes irresistible.
Slide the segments. Shift them rhythmically. Feel the controlled resistance and satisfying glide. šāØ

But this time, you can choose how the movement behaves.
š Version A ā Full-Chained
ā±ļø Approx. 3 hours print time
All 10 elements are connected on both sides, forming a fully linked internal chain. Each segment can move 2 cm up and down, creating a balanced, centered motion that feels smooth and controlled ā like waves moving through the egg š„
This version delivers symmetrical feedback and a refined mechanical flow. Every element supports the next, creating a harmonized fidget experience.
āļø Version B ā Max-Size Interlinked
ā±ļø Approx. 2.5 hours print time
In this dynamic configuration, the elements are linked at the bottom to achieve a dramatic maximum movement range of 4 cm. The first and last segments connect to only one neighbor, allowing for extended reach and a more pronounced sliding motion.
The result? Bigger travel, bolder movement, stronger tactile feedback.
This version can reach an impressive maximum size of 40 cm, pushing the concept to its mechanical limits. āļø
