Description
This is an adapter to allow the installation of a SoundTraxx CurrentKeeperII (810160) or similarly sized keep alive PCB into a Athearn Genesis series P42DC or P40DC. It is designed to be a friction fit allowing for it to be removable if necessary, to allow access to the rear gear box for maintenance. It is to be pressed into the frame at the rear of the locomotive over the rear truck, legs down, with the largest notch facing forward. This allows clearance for the rear truck pickup wires. After that a CurrentKeeper 2 can be placed directly on top of it and taped down with Kapton or Scotch tape. In my testing double sided foam tape between the CurrentKeeper and the stand was to thick to allow the shell to seat properly and should not be used. Please note I have only printed this part in PETG and although it may work fine in PLA, that is untested.
