Description

NEW UPDATE: Added a brand-new Expansion Plate system.

News Update with extension Plate

LEGOx Building Plate

Flat Center • Raised Borders • 3 Sizes Available

🚀 Stop Losing LEG0x Pieces While Building

Tired of bricks falling off the table during assembly?

This xLEG0 Building Plate is designed as a dedicated building workspace with raised containment borders and a fully flat inner surface — perfect for clean, controlled desk building sessions.

🧩 What Makes It Different?

Unlike traditional baseplates:

  • ✔ The center is completely flat
  • ✔ Studs are located only on the outer frame
  • ✔ Raised borders help keep small parts contained
  • ✔ Designed specifically as a building tray, not a display base

This gives you freedom to:

  • Build sub-modules comfortably
  • Sort pieces inside the tray
  • Keep your desk organized
  • Build anywhere without mess

🔗 Modular & Expandable

Multiple plates can be connected together using standard LEGOx bricks.

You can:

  • Combine 2 or more trays to create a larger workspace
  • Mix different sizes (30 / 26 / 22 PIN)
  • Create custom desk layouts
  • Build temporary multi-zone building stations

This makes the system scalable and flexible depending on your project size.

📏 Available Sizes (External Dimensions)

The PIN number refers to the overall external size.

  • 🔹 30 PIN – Large workspace (240mm)
  • 🔹 26 PIN – Balanced everyday size (208mm)
  • 🔹 22 PIN – Compact desk-friendly version (176mm)

Border Structure:

  • 3 sides: 2-stud thickness
  • 1 side: 1-stud thickness
  • Smooth interior surface (no inner studs)

🖨 Easy to Print

  • No supports needed
  • Optimized for PLA
  • Clean geometry
  • Beginner-friendly print

🎯 Perfect For

• xLEGOx building sessions
• Kids and adults
• Modular workspace setups
• Desk organization
• Expanding build areas

🚀 Major Update – Expansion Plates Added!

This project is no longer just a collection of sorting trays.

The system has been expanded with a new family of Expansion Plates specifically designed to be used alongside the main trays.

New Expansion Sizes

• 15 x 15 studs

• 13 x 13 studs

• 11 x 11 studs

Why Expansion Plates?

These compact plates can be positioned next to the main trays to create a larger and more customizable workspace.

Perfect for:

✓ Separating parts during builds

✓ Keeping frequently used pieces within reach

✓ Creating modular sorting stations

✓ Adapting the workspace to available desk space

✓ Building your own custom tray configuration

Mix and match main trays and Expansion Plates to create the organization setup that best fits your building style.

This update transforms the project from a single tray into a complete modular organization system.

⚠ Disclaimer

This is a custom-designed workspace accessory and is not an official xLEGO product.
Compatible with standard ForLEG0 bricks.

any chance you could do 13x13, my idea is to print a 26x26 and 4 13x13 to have either side, so it all fits uniform. please,

Hi @CarlsbergLewis If I understand correctly, your idea is to have two plates on both sides. No problem producing the profiles. It might be useful to other users as well, so I think I’ll release the "half-size" versions for all dimensions of the “central” plate. I’ll try to upload the profile asap. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask for your feedback: if you’d had a parametric model of this project available, would it have been useful to you?

Hi @Jtlwelch , thanks for the suggestion. The print profile is calculated automatically. I also selected PS1 when uploading, but for some reason it wasn't considered suitable. I'll try to figure out why.
