Description
ArmaScale Pet is a flexible scale armor vest harness for active pets.
It combines an armour aesthetic with real-world usability — designed for regular walks, light protection, and pets who don’t mind looking legendary.
There are two versions of ArmaScale Pet:
• Composite (rigid + flexible materials)
• Mono (single material, more compliant)
Both use customizable straps for fit and include a built-in Leash Loop just behind the neck.

Composite version
Rigid outer scales with a flexible base structure underneath. Feels more like armor and holds its shape better.
The composite version was designed for multi-head printers like the H2D and H2C, allowing for multi-material printing with TPU in the left nozzle and another material like PLA, PETG or TPU for AMS in the right nozzle.
Base material: TPU (TPU 95A HF, TPU 90A)
Scale material: PLA, PETG, TPU for AMS
Material notes from testing:
- PLA → better layer adhesion
- TPU for AMS → tougher and more temperature resistant
The composite design uses multi-material interlocking to improve connection between the base and the scales.

Note: even with material interlocking, it is possible to peel off the scales with enough force to overcome PLA/PETG/TPU for AMS layer adhesion.
If you're concerned about your pet breaking off scales, it is recommended to use the Mono version which will have stronger TPU layer adhesion.
Mono version
Same geometry, print the whole thing with flexible, strong TPU.

The mono version was designed for single-head printers like the A-series, P-series, X-series and H2S.
Tested successfully with the following TPUs:
- TPU 95A HF
- TPU 90A
- TPU 85A
- Generic TPU
Leash Loop
Integrated into the back piece, positioned just behind the neck.
It’s intended for everyday leash attachment. I haven’t done destructive pull testing, but realistically the straps will fail before the loop itself. If your dog is a heavy puller, use strong nylon straps and common sense.

Sizing
Sizing ArmaScale Pet is done by measuring your pet's back length — from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
Use the chart below to determine the print scale to correctly size for your pet.

Please only scale in the X and Y directions. The Z-direction is optimized for 0.2mm layer height for multi-material interlocking and optimal base layer flexibility.
Straps & Fit
ArmaScale Pet is designed with 1-inch wide strap slots at 100% scale. The strap slots can be used with different types of straps:
- For convenience, printable TPU snap-fit straps (20 mm – 120 mm length) are included in both the Composite and Mono print profiles.
- For easier attachment, velcro straps can be used (not included)
- For a more secure long-term option, nylon straps with buckles are recommended (not included).
If your pet is a strong puller, then please use nylon straps with buckles.

Fit should be:
- Snug enough not to rotate
- Loose enough to allow full shoulder movement and breathing

Always supervise wear and check for rubbing points.
Printing Tips
ArmaScale Pet is designed to print-in-place, without supports.
If you scale the print to fit your pet, please only scale in the X and Y directions. The Z-direction is optimized for 0.2mm layer height multi-material interlocking and base material flexibility.
It is recommended to use glue on your print bed to facilitate easy removal - TPU can stick!
