Description

Good morning!
I'd like to present the front upper suspension arms for the Yokomo YD2 chassis. I designed them because the original arms in my model had noticeable play, causing front-wheel vibrations, and I didn't want to wait for a replacement set.
The arms have geometry identical to the originals and are optimized for 3D printing without supports, using the orientation shown in the project.
I spent a lot of time calibrating my printer to get the pin-hole diameter right, but in the end the best result came from drilling the holes with a 2.5 mm bit. This way the pins move smoothly, without noticeable backlash.
The hole for the metal truss-rod is sized such that the rod can be screwed in without tapping threads, and once installed it sits tight and secure.
I printed these arms in PETG and they work great, but you can also use PETG-CF, ASA, ABS, and I believe they would hold up in PLA or PLA-CF as well, though more demanding users should opt for the stronger materials under heavy stress.
Recommended print settings (tested on Bambu Lab P1S):

3 perimeters/walls

25% infill

Layer height: 0.14 mm (first layer: 0.2 mm)

No supports

No brim

Print time: 36.9 minutes (for 2 arms)

Weight: 3.69 g (for 2 arms)

Based on the look and design of the front suspension, there's a chance these arms may also fit other Yokomo models based on the YD-2 / RD-2.0 platform, such as YD-2Z, YD-2E, YD-2S, YD-2R, YD-2R-Plus, RD-2.0, Rookie Drift 2.0, and Master Drift MD-1. I don't have the possibility to physically verify every variant, so please double-check compatibility with your own chassis before printing.
I highly recommend this part to anyone who wants to refresh the front suspension of their YD2 (or related Yokomo drift chassis) quickly and without breaking the bank. Feel free to test and comment – if there's interest, I'll upload more parts for this chassis!
