Description
The Hidden Mark is a dual-stage wax seal system designed around the idea of concealment and revelation. At first glance, it stamps “MakerWorld” as a decorative ornamental seal. But when disassembled, a second hidden core is revealed — allowing you to mark the center with a concealed symbol.
This project explores the symbolism of hidden messages:
A mark that only appears when intentionally revealed.
A message received, understood, and sealed again — privately.
Inspired in Gaudí and catalan modernism
It reflects the idea that some marks are not meant to be immediately visible — but discovered.
The act of disassembling the object becomes part of the ritual
How It Works
The system is composed of:
• The outer seal body (MakerWorld ornamental frame)
• The hidden central core stamp
• The display/support structure
The central core piece fits precisely inside the main body. When assembled, the outer seal stamps the full “MakerWorld” design.
If the user removes the outer frame and uses the internal core independently, a second hidden mark can be stamped in the center.
This creates a two-stage sealing ritual:
- Public mark
- Hidden mark
Revealed only under intention.
Assembly Instructions
The two seal stamp faces must be fixed using contact adhesive (contact cement).
Recommended:
• Apply a thin layer of contact glue to both mating surfaces
• Let it become tacky
• Press firmly and align carefully
• Allow full curing before first use
This ensures a rigid and precise stamping surface.
