Description

Finn's Grass Sword

Adventure Time

Printing

I used basic PLA for all parts. No scaling required; I’ve scaled it perfectly for a real human boy like Finn.

Assembly

I used super glue to connect everything. Popsicle sticks are used as pegs to connect all the parts together.

Finishing

My post-printing process is very tedious; but it’s worth the effort. Step by step;

  1. Sand down all print lines

  2. Use putty filler or putty primer to fill in any defects

  3. Sand, fill and repeat until nice and smooth (or all patience is lost)

  4. Spray paint or acrylic based paints for color

  5. Satin clear coat for a nice, semi-glossy finish

Vinyl Wrapping on Gems

I used a blue-mirror self-adhesive vinyl wrap to finish the gems; it would be very difficult to achieve the blue-mirror look with just paint and primer.
