Get ready for April Fool's Day with this 3D-printable take on the vintage novelty Joy Buzzer! This Hand Buzzer uses the internal wind-up mechanism from a Bambu Lab Wind-Up Walking Toy to create a surprising "buzzing" sound when you shake your victim's hand.
How it Works
The design consists of a case that houses the wind-up mechanism, a ring to conceal it comfortably in your palm, and a trigger plate. Wind it up, slip the ring on your finger, and when someone shakes your hand, the pressure on the trigger releases the gears, letting out a mechanical buzz!
Required Hardware:
Bambu Lab Wind-Up Walking Mechanism
Print Details
Printer: Fits on all Bambu printers, including the A1 Mini!
Filament: Quick, single-color print: under 1 hour and less than 18 grams of filament. Pictured in Silver PLA to mimic the classic metal Joy Buzzer.
Supports: None required. Print in place and assemble!
Assembly (see pictures)
•Use pliers to crack open the Wind-Up Walker along the seam, then pry open and remove the mechanism.
•Use pliers to remove the little disks on either side (they pull straight off, leaving two little posts sticking out).
•Use wire cutters or nail clippers to cut off the two little posts.
•Insert the Bambu Wind-Up mechanism into the casing, snap the pieces together, insert the trigger, wind the mechanism, insert the ring (4 sizes available), add the Winder Cap (optional), and you're all set!
