Vlad III Țepeș — Bust

This bust portrays Vlad III Țepeș, also known as Vlad the Impaler, in a sculptural interpretation based on the most widely recognized historical portrait of the Wallachian ruler. It draws directly from his most famous image: the intense gaze, pronounced mustache, distinctive headdress, and sharp facial structure reflecting a feared and determined leader.
The sculptural treatment emphasizes strong planes and defined features—high cheekbones, deep-set eyes, and a firm jawline—capturing the dramatic presence associated with his legend. The bust is limited to the head and upper torso, focusing on authority and psychological intensity.
Prince of Wallachia in the 15th century, Vlad III is remembered for his harsh methods of rule and resistance against the Ottoman Empire. His epithet “Țepeș” (“the Impaler”) comes from the execution method he notoriously employed. While later associated with the fictional character Dracula, he remains a complex historical figure symbolizing both resistance and ruthless medieval power.
