Boost Me (for free)
Boost me to keep making parametric models for everyone!
Catch 'em all—and keep your pills perfectly organised! This Parametric Pill Container brings the classic Ground-type right to your desk or nightstand.
Featuring a rocky textured "dirt" base and an adorable, instantly recognisable domed head, this two-part container splits in the middle using a heavy-duty, fully 3D-printable screw thread. Best of all, it is completely parametric! You can adjust Containers height, width, the size of his nose and eyes, and even tweak the thread pitch to perfectly suit your 3D printer's tolerances.
Whether you're storing daily vitamins, breath mints, or tiny SD cards, Pill box has got you covered!
Customisation Guide
Thanks to MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, you can easily customize Diglett to your exact needs using the following sliders:
- body_diameter & body_height: Change the overall size of the container to hold more (or fewer) items.
- ground_height & ground_diameter: Adjust the size of the bumpy dirt base he emerges from.
- nose_diameter & eye_diameter: Fine-tune his retro facial features!
- thread_pitch & thread_depth: Having trouble with the screw joint? Tweak the pitch for steeper threads, or adjust the tooth depth to eliminate overhangs on tricky filaments.
- tolerance: Increase this slightly if your printed threads feel too tight or binding.
Printing Recommendations
This model was meticulously designed to print 100% Support-Free.
- Orientation: Print both the base and the top lid flat on the build plate (the top lid should naturally generate upside down with the flat cut facing the bed).
- Layer Height: Important 0.2mm works great, but 0.12mm or 0.16mm will yield much smoother curves on the top dome and thread joints alone at least, reduce speed on the thread joints.
- Infill: 15% - 20% Gyroid or Grid.
- Walls: 3 perimeters minimum (to ensure the threaded neck is strong).
- Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS/ASA. Dual-color (Brown and Gray) is highly recommended!
