To celebrate my 10,000-like milestone on MakerWorld, a V2.0 of my Fog Nozzle Pen Holder has been created. Thank you all!
The new version is based on numerous feedback from the community and was specifically revised where questions or minor problems arose over time. All components have been redesigned or specifically adapted. Parts of the predecessor are not needed. However, since the relevant plug connections and pins have been dimensionally adopted, old and new parts can also be combined if desired to create additional variants.
The goal of V2.0 was to further improve printability, eliminate known weaknesses, and make the design more robust and easier to assemble overall. At the same time, the aesthetics have been refined in many areas, and additional design freedom has been created through alternative print profiles.
The fog nozzle can be used as a pen holder, but is also suitable as a purely decorative object. Thanks to the modular design, free color customization is possible – the images shown represent only a fraction of the possible combinations.
Revisions at a glance:
- New look for main elements such as nozzle, pistol grip, and lever
- The pipe between the main body and the nozzle has been revised in shape and details. Additionally, finer structures have been added for an improved haptic and optical result. An optional color accent can be applied to the component, offering an additional design option. The previously separate intermediate bottom to be glued into the pipe is now directly integrated into the component. This eliminates any manual post-processing at this point – the part is fully print-ready.
- A bug in the main body has been fixed, which previously often led to loose filament lines.
- The grip has been completely redesigned, is more ergonomic in the hand, and has a significantly smoother surface texture.
- The pistol grip is no longer attached via two small pins, but via a stable elongated oval element that offers more stability and simplifies assembly.
- The handle / lever has been redesigned and made somewhat more massive. Optionally, a version with "Open / Close" lettering can be printed; no text is included in the standard print profile. Labeled variants are available as versions with and without AMS.
- The pins of the handle or lever are now designed as visible screws and are inserted and glued from the outside. For fans of the classic look, an alternative print profile with invisible internal pins is available.
- The nozzle has been completely redesigned. It is easier to print, offers more possibilities for color accents, and can be used either with or without a silver ring.
- As with all my new designs, the more detailed Storz-C coupling is also used here directly.
The pen holder consists of several components that need to be glued together.
For a particularly realistic appearance, the following colors have proven effective (other combinations are of course possible):
Black → BambuLab PLA Matte Black
Red → BambuLab PLA Matte Dark Red
Silver → BambuLab PLA Basic Silver / Amazon Basics PLA Silk
For gluing, I use the well-known UHU Hart plastic adhesive, with which very good and durable results can be achieved.

The image shows which component belongs where and in what order they should be glued (following the arrows, always work from outside to inside)
For the standard variant (shown in the image), the following .stl files are required:
- hsr_v2_nozzle_outer
- hsr_v2_nozzle_inner
- hsr_v2_nozzle_ring
- hsr_v2_nozzle_pointer
- hsr_v2_pistolgrip
- hsr_v2_pistolgrip_connector
- hsr_v2_coupling
- hsr_v2_coupling_seal
- hsr_v2_body
- hsr_v2_body_pipe
- hsr_v2_handle
- hsr_v2_handle_pin
The images show various color and design configurations. All elements shown are available here, some through separate print profiles.
The standard print profile is deliberately designed so that it can be easily used even without AMS.
