Hi all,
I modeled this frame in SolidWorks with the goal of maintaining similar stiffness to the carbon frame while keeping the weight as low as possible. The current design comes in at 21.5 grams. The original carbon frame, including the TPU GPS and camera mount, weighs approximately 15 grams.
So yes, it’s about 6.5 grams heavier, but it flies perfectly fine. Do keep in mind that the extra weight will slightly reduce flight time and range.
Mine is printed in PETG-HF, and I’ve added four M2 threaded inserts to mount the PCB.
This frame is optimized to fit a Caddx Baby Ratel 2.
