This is a full three-dimensional half-scale replica of the iconic Spinosaurus aegypticus skull — measuring approximately 825mm from snout tip to rear of the skull when fully assembled.

This is not a wall slice.
This is the entire skull in the round — built to dominate a table, plinth, studio or exhibition space.

The model spans 7 build plates and uses approximately 2.7kg of filament when printed using the supplied 3MF file (plates pre-arranged for convenience).

With its elongated, crocodile-like snout and conical teeth adapted for a semi-aquatic lifestyle, Spinosaurus remains one of the most visually dramatic theropods ever discovered — and at this scale, it has serious presence.

🛠 Print Details

  • 🧩 7 build plates (pre-sliced in 3MF)
  • ⚖️ ~2.7kg filament
  • 🔥 Designed for strong structural assembly
  • 📏 Final length: ~825mm

Recommended Approach

For maximum strength on a model this size:

  • ABS + acetone welding (neat acetone + slurry for seam blending)
  • Dry fit before permanent bonding
  • Work methodically to prevent cumulative alignment drift

Any filament will work — just ensure you're using a strong adhesive appropriate for the material. This is a large structural piece, so don’t skimp on bonding strength.

💀 Why Take This On?

  • Full 360° museum-style display
  • Centrepiece for studios or collections
  • Paleontology enthusiast dream build
  • Large-format printer flex
  • A serious multi-plate project for experienced makers

I’ll be printing this one once my current half-scale Triceratops finishes — but I’d genuinely love to see someone build it first. If you take it on, tag me. Big prehistoric projects deserve attention.
