Meet your new favorite desk companion! This Articulated Axolotl is designed to be a fast, satisfying print with a great range of motion. Whether you’re looking for a fun fidget toy or a cute gift, this little guy is perfect for showing off your favorite PLA colors.

Despite the detail in the gills and tail, this model is optimized for a quick turnaround, taking just over 1.5 hours to complete. It’s a great "benchmark" for seeing how well your printer handles small supports and articulation joints.

Print Settings

  • Material: PLA (Works great with Silk or Matte as well!)
  • Print Time: ~1h 31m (on standard settings)
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm recommended for smooth joints
  • Infill: 15% (Grid or Gyroid)
  • Supports: Required. I recommend using "Tree Supports" for the gill areas. They pop right off with minimal effort and leave a clean finish.
  • Brim: Not usually necessary unless you have bed adhesion issues.

Post-Processing

The supports are designed to be very easy to remove. Once the print is finished, simply wiggle the segments gently to break them loose. A pair of needle-nose pliers or a hobby knife makes quick work of the gill supports!

Thank you for your time and business. I hope you have a great day! Keep on printing!
