Description

This is an adaptation of 145MHz antenna described in this article:

Enhancing VHF Performance: The Dual Reflector Moxon Antenna for 145 MHz › AN-SOF

Scaled and optimised in MMANA-GAL, AN-SOF, 2mm wire used and RG316 coaxial cable

Designed to fit the stand from this popular Moxon antenna model

In theory, double reflector should reduce the beamwidth in vertical plane giving additional gain over standart Moxon antenna

I tested these using transparent (natural) and semi-transparent PETG for

I'm not sure if it works better than a standart Moxon, but it definitely works pretty good

I woud like to hear some feedback on how it is working

There is a “Bender” part in this project - it is used for bending wire to size - please use it and everything should work

Short manual on how to bend with Bender part:

There are 3 holes in it - for reflector element, for vibrator element and for cutting to size in the middle

  1. Straighten the wire (for example using drill+vice method)
  2. Put wire to the hole marked “Refl” in bender part, make sure it went all the way, bend it 90°
  3. Put the long wire end through the middle hole (making sure bent part is in the groove) and cut it flush
  4. Put the long wire end to the same Refl hole in bender part and bend it 90° correspondingly and you have your reflector element perfectly in size
  5. Do the same with vibrator element and hole marked “Vibr”

At the end vibrator element won't be the same length as Refl and won't fit to the antenna body holes - that's fine, we will cut it in half and then a little bit more making room for soldering cable anyway
