You print beautiful and practical objects, such as textiles, clothes, and shoes - so why not print your own glasses yourself and then have them fitted with lenses by an optician, or saw and click plastic sunglass lenses into the frame yourself! Try it out - the glasses were designed by me, a professional glasses designer, and are very easy to print with my Bambu printer. I recommend ABS or PETG as printing material. You can also equip them with non-prescription sunglass lenses yourself. Simply search online for plastic sunglass lenses. You can saw them to size with a fine saw and file them precisely to the necessary shape and size. A paper template that you can glue onto the sunglass lenses for easier cutting is included in the downloadable data as assembly instructions. Please do not forget to provide the contour edges of the sunglass lenses with a “V” groove so that they hold well in the frame. If you do not want to fit the lenses yourself, or if you want prescription lenses in the glasses, then entrust this to the optician of your choice. The glasses are designed so that an optician can easily equip them with your special lenses. For the assembly of the two spectacle temples, you need a piece of wire approx. 9 mm long with a diameter of 1 mm as an axis. On the underside, you can secure the wire in the frame with adhesive. The great thing is also, once you have a pair of lenses, you can print an infinite number of glasses in different colors and with your graphic design ideas, and always use the existing lenses. Happy printing - next summer is coming - and you will have your self-printed glasses with your lenses for the beach, ice cream parlor, and… and… and…. With them, you will steal the show from everyone else’s “sun-ray-banner”!
