Supported Spindle Whorls and Shafts
Print Profile(1)

Description
Other than the russian spindle by Jennigma on TinkerCad, which is great, I really haven't seen many functional supported spindle models. So I made a couple. The central negative space cylinder in each whorl can be sized individually against the spindle shafts in the file, or whatever you prefer to use (e.g. chopsticks), and the weights can vary dramatically based on both scaling the size and increasing/decreasing the infill.
This project includes six objects: a rim-weighted whorl for either a top or bottom drop spindle, a cone-shaped supported spindle whorl (Tibetan), a globe-shaped supported spindle whorl (more of a Russian silhouette, but not really), and three spindle shafts which can be sized to seat the shaft into the supported whorls with a touch of super-glue (use the gel, it's nice), or to turn the rim-weighted whorl into either a top or a bottom orientation.
I printed these in a generic rainbow gradient ABS on a textured heated plate with supports allowed on an X1 Carbon.
