This is a detailed 3D printable skull of Spinosaurus mirabilis, the newly recognised Spinosaurus species currently taking social media — and palaeontology circles — by storm.

While Spinosaurus aegyptiacus has long been the better-known species, newly analysed fossil material and taxonomic reassessments have led researchers to distinguish additional species within the genus. Spinosaurus mirabilis represents part of that evolving scientific discussion — a reminder that even the most famous dinosaurs are still being re-examined and redefined.

Spinosaurus fossils from the Moroccan Kem Kem beds have radically reshaped our understanding of this animal over the past decade, revealing:

  • A long, crocodile-like snout
  • Conical, fish-grabbing teeth
  • Adaptations suggesting a semi-aquatic lifestyle
  • Dense bones aiding submersion

This model captures that distinctive elongated skull profile and predator dentition in display form.

🦷 Jaw & Support Notes (Read Before Printing)

  • The lower jaw is a separate piece.
  • It prints appearing assembled with the upper skull.
  • Once supports are removed, the lower jaw separates cleanly.
  • The jaw is removable, but not hinged or articulated.

⚠️ Support removal around the teeth is critical.

The teeth are delicate.

• Work slowly

• Crush supports gently into small pieces

• Remove gradually rather than pulling

• Avoid twisting force near tooth bases

Do not rip large clusters away — patience protects detail.

This skull makes a striking display piece for desks, shelves, classrooms, or fossil collections.

If you enjoy large prehistoric skull prints, follow the page — there’s always something bigger in progress.

Boosts, makes, and photos are hugely appreciated.
