Protective cover for TECHNICS SL-1210 series (MK2)

I designed a custom-fit protective cover for the Technics SL-1210 MK2 (generally fits the SL-1210 series), as original dust covers often cost around 100 € and are hard to find. The goal was to develop a stable, aesthetically pleasing, and easily printable alternative.

Up to the final version, I made several prototypes and continuously optimized them until the present cover convinced in terms of shape, stability, and printability.

The cover is manufactured on two build plates in a total of four individual parts. Color and material can be freely chosen. For a particularly elegant and eye-catching look, I recommend Silk-filament (Silk+), which gives the surface a high-quality sheen.

After printing, the components are permanently joined together. Special 3D printing adhesive is suitable for this; alternatively, conventional superglue also works reliably.

I strongly advise against plug connections generated directly in Bambu Studio. Due to print orientation, these can turn out unevenly, so that the parts can only be precisely assembled at the end with significant post-processing.

I printed the covers with a 0.4 mm nozzle, which yields very good results. However, I am convinced that a 0.6 mm nozzle also works without problems and might even reduce print time without negatively affecting stability.
