This is a minimalist filament clip I designed previously. Unfortunately, while I can avoid the obstruction of theAMS limit block, I cannot escape the shadow of the plastic mold'sdraft angle, and the original spool hole diameters vary with different materials and batches. The most disappointing aspect is the probability of detachment caused by AMS 2 Pro and AMS HTrotary drying, which poses a risk of filament jams in subsequent prints.

Solving the Problem
First, avoid design flaws
Robustness (spool hole's draft angle causes easy detachment)
Device compatibility (avoiding AMS limit block collision)
Durability (preventing detachment during drying)
Special environment (more suitable for AMS rotary drying)
Compatibility (applicable to different brands of spools)
Then consider the cost
Material (small size)
Time (short print time)
Lifespan (avoiding failure due to material fatigue)
Finally, be unique
Appearance (minimalist design that does not affect drying airflow)
Ergonomics (suitable for finger grip)
Operation (simple)
Perfect printing (seamless vase mode)

Simple can be harder than complex.
You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.

After many modifications, this design resembling human arm bones was born!
I named it Radius&Ulna

The curved angle and enlarged feed opening create a gap for hot airflow to pass through, and the small coverage area and thin material allow for more thorough drying.

The initial first version resembled a Chinese cruller (youtiao), with a slightly upward curved angle, allowing for smooth sliding corresponding to the filament's curvature, and could be perfectly locked by simply flipping it 180°. However, when I took and released the photos, I found that the upright projection area was smaller, which was more conducive for hot air to pass through the filament clip.
I redesigned the second version, retaining the finger grip angle, but the edges still felt a bit foreign.

I redesigned the third version, and this time it felt smooth and perfectly fit the fingers.

Vase mode perfectly and seamlessly draws a figure 8, which is also the most comfortable printing mode for perfectionists.

Each print takes 3 minutes and weighs only 0.22g, which makes me like the vase mode even more.

I think many people might find a detachable design inconvenient due to lack of storage, but it can lie quietly beneath the AMS slot without affecting any operation or getting lost.

Important Tip:
Before printing, please usedish soap to wash offoil stains from the surface of the build plate. If the build plate is old, you canapply glue orenable Brim (Process/Other/Bed Adhesion/Brim Type/Auto). Ensure the ambient temperature isabove 25 degrees Celsius. (This can effectively preventspaghetti)
For printing materials, it is recommended to choose filament with thehighest heat distortion temperature. The default filament for the model is PETG.
The filamentflow rate should be adjusted according to the calibrated value, and the shrinkage rate can be determined using ashrinkage test strip. (Filament settings/Filament/Flow ratio and Shrinkage)
When printing, it is recommended tofirst print the firsttest plate, and then, based on the test results, determine the outer wall line width to batch print the second plate. This not only allows us to betterpredict the tightness of the filament clip, but also to welladapt to filaments of different diameters.
