Desk Monitor Mount for Spotify Car Thing

Mount your Spotify Car Thing under a desktop monitor. This adapter is designed to be printed in PLA and attached to the monitor using double-sided tape, thanks to its large contact area for a strong bond.

It reuses the original Car Thing mount/bracket (the one that came with the device) and secures it with one screw(matching the original mount).

A rear stabilizing fin gives for extra support. Since every monitor has a different back curvature, I recommend applying gentle heat (hair dryer / low heat gun) to slightly soften the fin and shape it to your monitor for the best fit. Let it cool in place, without damaging your screen!.

Printing recommendations

• Material: PLA
• Orientation: as provided in the STL
• Supports: Yes, non visual parts.
• Infill: 20–30% (
• Walls/Perimeters: 3–4
• Layer height: 0.20 mm (or your usual)

Assembly

1. Print the part and test-fit the original Car Thing mount.
2. Attach the original mount to this adapter using one screw.
3. Clean the back of the monitor (isopropyl alcohol recommended).
4. Apply double-sided tape to the large contact surface and stick the mount under the monitor.
5. (Optional) Apply gentle heat to the rear fin and press it against the monitor so it matches the curvature. Hold until it cools.

Notes

• Fit may vary depending on monitor thickness and back curvature.
• Use low, controlled heat to avoid deforming the print too much or damaging the monitor.
• PLA is great indoors; if your setup gets warm, consider PETG.
