Description

This is a fully parametric storage box with a magnetic lid. The model generates two separate parts: the box and the lid. You can quickly customize size, wall thickness, magnet pockets, dividers, and optional decorative patterns directly in the parameter panel.

Print profiles

I included a few example print profiles with 36 box + lid variants each, 6.15 mm magnet hole. Profiles differ by box height.

Key features

  • Magnetic closure: configurable magnet pocket diameter and depth
  • Fully parametric sizing: length, width, height, wall thickness, floor thickness
  • Optional dividers: set divider counts for X and Y to create compartments
  • Optional lid dividers: mirror the same divider layout on the lid
  • Patterns (optional): apply cutout patterns to box walls/floor and lid (no need to configure if you want a clean solid box)

Dimensions and how sizing works

  • Box inner length / width / height are the internal usable dimensions of the box body.
  • The printed outer size will be larger:
    • Outer length = inner length + (2 × wall thickness)
    • Outer width = inner width + (2 × wall thickness)
    • Box outer height = inner height + floor thickness
  • Total internal clearance when the box is closed is:
    • Box inner height + lid height
      Example: if box inner height is 30 mm and lid height is 5 mm, then the internal space from the box floor to the inside top of the lid is 35 mm.

Magnet pockets

  • Magnet hole diameter controls the fit (adjust for your magnet tolerance and filament shrinkage).
  • Magnet hole depth is measured from the top face.
  • Lid height must be at least the magnet hole depth.

Dividers

  • Divider count length (X): number of full-width dividers distributed along the length
  • Divider count width (Y): number of full-length dividers distributed along the width
  • Divider thickness is configurable
  • Enable lid dividers if you want the lid to have the same divider layout

Patterns (optional)

If you enable patterns, you can choose from multiple styles (Hex, Grid, Vents, etc.) and apply them separately to:

  • box floor
  • box walls
  • lid floor
  • lid walls
  • dividers

Assembly tip (magnets)
Glue the magnets in place. Let the glue fully cure before using the box.
