Alyx's pistol (Configurable Prop) - Half Life Alyx

Note: Please read the assembly guide before printing to avoid unnecessary parts.

This is my highly detailed cosplay prop recreation of Alyx’s Pistol from Half-Life: Alyx—designed as a configurable build so you can assemble your preferred in-game loadout. The model includes the well-known pistol upgrade set (reflex sight, laser sight, burst-fire module, and the ammo/bullet reservoir-style capacity upgrade) as seen in the game’s upgrade system. 

I’ve put many, many hours into this project to make it feel “game-real” while still being printable and buildable.

I’m providing two print profiles:

1. Full Kit – prints every part so you can choose your own configuration.
2. Final Build – prints the fully upgraded version (no unnecessary parts included).

The assembly guide refers to the Full Kit.

Print orientation & difficulty

All parts are oriented for the best balance of strength + surface quality. That said, taller parts may cause issues on A1-series printers (bed-slingers), depending on speed/adhesion and your setup. This project was only tested on P2S and H2D, so other machines may require tweaks (brim, slower speeds, extra support tuning, etc.).

Assembly notes

This is a complex, detail-heavy model, so I recommend printing it only if you’re in the mood for a serious build (and a satisfying assembly session).
Good news: the prop shown in my photos was assembled without sanding—I removed supports with simple pliers and went straight to assembly.

Paint finish (what you see in the photos)

Most of the finish is just dry brushing + metallic paints. Only a few very high-detail areas were touched up with acrylic paint markers.

Important note

This prop is configurable at build time. Once glued during assembly, the configuration becomes permanent (not meant to be reconfigured afterward).
