CHISŌ チソウ — Sedimentary Planter

Millions of years compressed into a single pot.

CHISŌ (地層 / "Strata") captures the beauty of exposed rock faces — layers of earth compacted over millennia, then carved by wind and water into rounded, organic forms. Each band tells a different chapter of geological time.
 

The rounded goblet form isn't just aesthetic — it's the natural result of erosion smoothing sharp edges into soft curves. Those textured bands? They're the 0.2mm FDM layer lines, transformed into sedimentary strata. No post-processing, no hiding. The printer writes the geology.
 

CHISŌ's compact, rounded form is a natural match for globular cacti and small succulents — Astrophytum, Gymnocalycium, Echeveria, and Lithops. The pot's curves echo the round shapes of the plants, creating a harmonious pairing where geometry meets nature.

The settings below are for users who prefer to slice manually:
- No supports needed — prints in one go!
- Layer Height: 0.2mm (CRITICAL — defines the sedimentary bands)
- Wall Loops: 4 (for structural integrity)
- Infill: 15% Gyroid
- Tested on Bambu Lab P1S / P1P
Pro Tip: Try printing in marble or stone-effect PLA — the sedimentary texture looks incredible with color variation in the filament.
