Description

3rd Gen Mazda 3 Hatchback – 3D Printable Body (2014-2018)

This is a barebones shell model of the 3rd generation Mazda 3 hatchback (2014–2018) designed specifically for 3D printing. The model focuses on the exterior body shape and proportions while keeping the geometry simple and lightweight.

There is no interior, chassis, or underbody detail included. This makes the model ideal for RC projects, scale builds, or custom modifications where a thin printable shell is preferred.

Two scales are included:
1/24 scale (Comes out a little small for a SCX24 chassis)
1/20 scale (Recommended for SCX24 chassis)

The body is designed as a thin shell, allowing for lightweight prints and easier scaling if needed.

For best results use the following settings:

  • 0% infill (model is designed as a hollow shell)
  • 3 wall loops for strength
  • 0.4 mm nozzle or smaller
  • Print speeds below 80–90 mm/s for cleaner details
  • Supports required
  • Orientation: Print the body at approximately 45° with the nose pointed upward
  • Adaptive layer height recommended (enable adaptive and allow the slicer to determine layer changes)

Printing at an angle helps reduce visible layer lines on the hood, roof, and body panels while improving surface quality.
