Intro

A Case/Stand for your Nintendo Switch, to make it look like a Retro TV!

I remember this old TV my dad had when I was a kid, and something struck me, that I wanted that for my Nintendo Switch! A Retro TV styled case to stick it in, for a little added fun when I'm not playing at the big screen. Comes with lots of handy spaces too, to tuck secrets in!

The front panel uses magnets to keep secure. There's a pathway too, to allow for a USB-C cable for power and what have you.

There's a secondary profile included, which has a stand for the TV, to lean it at a more comfortable viewing angle. Not required, but might be desired!

Update

Added a print profile for the original switch! I don't have an original Switch myself, but a user here helped test the fit and looked good! Will update it if any issues crop up though. I printed a copy to make sure it still prints good and the buttons fit, and they do! Enjoy!

Community Spotlight

Check out the accessories made by @SteveKeller! In particular Steve has done a remix of the volume/power buttons for the original, and so make sure to check those out, as I'm willing to bet they'll have an improved fit (I don't have the original, so wasn't able to fully test the fit myself) Lots of other cool stuff too!

Tools & Assembly

Featured Filament:

  • Bambu PLA Basic Brown
  • Bambu PLA Metal Iridium Gold
  • Bambu PLA Matte Charcoal

Tools needed:

  • Hex Driver
  • Drill bit (For clearing out holes on the front panel, for the knobs)

Hardware needed: (Full disclosure, I am part of the Amazon Affiliate Program. All amazon links are affiliate links. I earn a small commission from these links without any added cost to you. These links help to support me so I can bring more content for free!

A general M3 Assortment kit, such as such as this one from Amazon US will work and help provide screws for some of the other projects I offer! Wink wink.)

On the front panel, clear out the holes for the knobs, so you can feed the M3x8 screws in. The holes were capped so the insets on the back side would print cleaner. Once the holes are clear, use M3x8 screws to attach the knobs

On the back, secure it using 4 M3x10 screws.

Insert the 3 buttons, making sure they line up length-wise. There will be an additional piece to insert in, to help secure the buttons in place when the switch isn't installed and the front panel isn't in.

Lastly, insert the 8 magnets into the front panel and main case. Be careful with the orientation of the magnets as you insert them! They are press fit and are a one way operation. The fit is very tight, so you wont be able to pull them out once they're in. Because they are very tight, it'll seem tough getting them in, but you can do it! I recommend using a tool or something that you can put the magnet on, to help aid in pushing it in.
