Description

Solar Tow Truck – Solar Car

This tow truck started as a school project with a simple goal: build a fully solar-powered car from scratch. No batteries, no external power – just pure solar energy.

The design is inspired by the classic flatbed tow truck look. The solar panel drives the motor directly, so the car only moves when the sun hits it – which makes it way more fun to play with outside than you'd think.

It turned out better than expected, and I'm pretty happy with how the final model came together.

Print it, take it outside, and let the sun do the work. ☀️

To get the solar car running, you'll need a solar panel with the following dimensions: 300mm long and 144mm wide, two 3-12V DC TT motors, M3 screws and M3 nuts, two LEDs with a 5mm diameter, and 4 ball bearings with an inner diameter of 8mm and an outer diameter of 22mm. You'll also need some glue if you want to attach the decorative elements

For now I won't be releasing a multi-material print profile, but if there's enough demand I might reconsider. I'd really appreciate your feedback and would love to see your prints of the solar truck! 🌞
