Head Holder for Flashforge Adventurer 5M / 5MPro

This is a custom-designed holder for three print heads compatible with the Flashforge Adventurer 5M and 5M Pro.
It keeps your hotends organized, protected, and clearly separated for different materials and color use.

The holder securely fits the standard quick-swap style hotend modules used with the Adventurer 5M series.

🎯 Why I Designed This

The main reason I created this holder was to solve a color contamination issue.

I experienced a recurring problem where:

• After printing dark filaments (black or other dark colors),
• Small unmelted or partially melted filament residues remained inside the hotend,
• Later, when printing white or light-colored filament,
• These dark residues were released and contaminated the print.

This resulted in unwanted dark streaks or particles appearing in white prints.

To solve this, I now:

• Use dedicated heads for different material types.
• Keep separate heads for dark and light filament use.
• Have one head permanently assigned to ABS.

By swapping the entire head instead of only changing filament, I avoid:

• Internal leftover filament mixing
• Long purge times
• Risk of color contamination
• Printing defects caused by residual material

This holder makes that workflow simple, clean, and organized.

🎨 Two-Color Print (No Multi-Color Printer Required)

The model shown is printed in dual-color PLA (black base with white text).

You do NOT need a multi-color printer to achieve this look.

The text is designed so you can:

1. Print normally in one color.
2. Pause the print before the final top layers.
3. Change filament.
4. Resume printing.

Only the final few layers need to be in a different color.

You can also print it:

• Single color
• With manual filament swaps
• Using AMS or other multi-material systems

🖨 Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA
• Layer height: 0.2 mm
• Infill: 15–25%
• No supports required
• Print flat on the base (as shown)

• STL version with embossed text labels (PLA / PLA / ABS)
• STL version without any text, in case you:
  • Prefer a clean minimalist look
  • Want to add your own labels
  • Use different materials
  • Or want easier single-color printing
