Description
The supplied connecting piece for the Ikea Vidga curtain rails was too loose for me, one could see the gap and the rails were not flush. Therefore, I designed a coupling piece with which I can connect the rails properly
The connecting pieces fit positively into the 2 holes next to the mounting chamfer, so there is no room for shifting. You have to push it together with some force. I incorporated fuzzy skin to create an adaptive tolerance range. This way, material can yield and be abraded when attaching the rail, without the coupling piece being too loose afterward
I designed the 2 holes to simplify possible disassembly, but I don't know if that helps. It's probably easier to just grab the thing with pliers and pull it out
My curtain rail has 3 chamfers, I unfortunately don't know if the coupling piece also works for 2- or 1-chamfer rails
