Description

An updated version of this model is now available!!! The updated version allows multiple panels to be connected together and is more flexible. You can find the updated version here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2585781-interconnectable-truchet-armour-fabric#profileId-2852460

This is a chainmail fabric structure based on a Truchet pattern that came to mind, and I thought it looked cool enough to turn into a real, printable design.

I wanted it to feel more like armor than soft fabric, so I used an interlocking structure. This makes it less flexible than most 3D printed fabrics, but it allows it to hold its shape and cover the body nicely.

It still has enough movement to wrap around curved surfaces like the arm, behaving more like articulated armor than cloth. I really like how the Truchet pattern flows across the surface and gives it a unique visual character.

I have included two versions of this model. The original version reflects the initial design, while the second version uses thinner rings, which makes it noticeably more flexible while keeping the same overall structure and appearance.
