Cat Tree Pole End Cap

This is a replacement end cap for cat tree poles intended to be used with heat set inserts, useful if you need a different thread size from stock or if the stock one somehow got damaged.  Cat tree poles are typically thick cardboard with the end caps being fairly flexible plastic, stapled into place.  So to get the old one out you'll need to pull all the staples.

This specific design is for ~68mm wide poles and M8 threaded inserts, and resizing for your needs should be easy.  I suggest printing the insert in PETG for a little bit of flex like the stock inserts.  It should go into the pole with some light tapping with a mallet, and you may want to add a little wood glue to the pole itself in case removing the staples affected the pole.  Then, add your own staples or drill a few holes for small screws, and you're good to go!
