Gas Station Model Set - 1:64 Scale Diorama
Print Profile(2)

Description
I received a lot of requests for some gas station models and Shell was at the top of the list. Shell is one of the most recognizable brands of gas stations with the classic Shell logo and bright yellow, red, and white color combo. Many gas stations also have the rounded gas pump top design. Shell has been around since the 1930's and remains one of the top fuel quality brands with locations not only in the US but across many other countries as well.
Most of the Shell stations have similar design features but not all are the same. I decided on the Shell Select version of the main building. The large gas station roof has three logo signs and the yellow and red accents. There are 4 gas pumps, red V-Power signs, and red bollards around the gas pumps and in front of the building. I also added parking lot bases on either side of the building.
- The bases all have the connection points on the bottom. Print out the base connection squares to press fit onto the bases to lock them in. There are also half-squares of the base connectors as well.
- I used super glue for the main door/window and I used hot glue for the Shell Select sign, roof accents, and roof logo signs.
- The V-Power signs press fit into the roof posts.
- The gas pump tops are super glued to the gas pump bases. There are also holes cut into the top and base to connect a piece of filament to look like the pump hose. I used a 3D Pen to draw a line of filament to look like the hose. It was my first time using the 3D Pen and I probably could have done a better job at drawing the line. Whichever method you use, take your time since the parts are small.
- The road sign is separated into the frame and then individual sections of each signage which press fit into the frame. This creates an outline around each sign which looks better (in my opinion) vs. printing all the parts as one piece.
- The building is the same design as the 711 that I designed, so you could swap out the buildings if you wanted to make a 711 & Shell combo. Or you could swap out the roof of the gas station with a different design/color scheme to create a whole new gas station. I designed the outer part of the roof to be removable without having to take out the inner roof and posts.
- The assembly guide is attached for reference. The guide includes a list of filaments used.
Thanks to everyone who requested this model set! It is a nice addition to my mini city, and it is so much fun adding cars and miniature figures to the model. I've been trying to include more figures and trees and bushes to add to the scene when taking photos and videos.
Stay tuned for more models as I've got a large project in the works that is going to be a real fun one!
