This bust represents Pericles in a sculptural interpretation inspired by the most famous ancient representation of the Athenian strategist. The serene face, with firm features, is surmounted by the characteristic Corinthian helmet that has become inseparable from his image in classical statuary.

The volumes are accentuated to enhance the readability of the forms: broad forehead, straight nose, and structured beard. The composition prioritizes balance and clarity in the spirit of ancient Greek sculpture, while retaining the presence and personality of the character.

Pericles (c. 495-429 BC) was a major Athenian statesman and strategist during the Golden Age of Athens. He contributed to the development of Athenian democracy and oversaw the construction of emblematic monuments such as the Parthenon.

This bust conveys the timeless image of the leader and orator as it has come down to us through ancient statuary, from which it is directly inspired.
