Description

Use this as a CAD “cut” tool (or a slicer negative boolean shape) to add an ACCURATE iPad shaped cut out from your ideas.
Also, *ALL* components of the iPad that require accessory cutouts or clearances are accurately portrayed on the model.

This is a true scale (PRECISE) model of a 2025 Apple iPad Air 11-inch M3 with all components (cameras, microphones, light sensors, charging points, buttons, speaker holes, etc.) indicated in accurate positions.  Please note that the real iPad screen is 100% flat and smooth.  The model has embossed/indents to indicate components that *should not* be covered which makes the indentations there not affect the usefullness of the model.

You could import the STEP file to your CAD program, or slicer, covert it to a NEGATIVE shape to cut/modify other parts.
You could use this in your CAD program to measure (this is EXTREMELY accurate).   If you do that, note that Apple recommends about 120 degrees+ (cone)  of clearance outward from all of the indicated interface objects on the ipad, and adds about 1.5mm horizontal clearance around the USB-C port.

I am using this for those purposes (as a part inside my CAD program) to design custom shapes that fit my iPad.
I am just sharing this with everyone.  I don't recommend you actually print this, although you *could* print this to hold it in your hand, but remember that 3d-printed parts shrink.  Therefore a print will not be as accurately to-scale as the model is.  The nominal dimensions of the actual ipad (excluding camera bump and buttons) is Height: 247.64mm x Width: 178.52mm x Depth: 6.123 (w. camera it is 8.2mm).  I did print the one I photographed just to prove that the 3mf file model I am uploading is accurate. (Plus my son likes to play with it.)

There are two STEP files I am uploading.  One has the embossed lettering on the front and a slight indentation indicating the visible screen area, and the other without those.
